Porsche 914 Restoration
I have enjoyed the substantial though expensive restoration and customization procedure. Even more lessons discovered. It is much cheaper to purchase a restored or heavily changed automobile than to restore and greatly modify one. Particularly a Porsche which is a complete rip-off parts-wise. $800US for an oil container, $900US for a muffler! ... care to imagine exactly how much for the gear box rebuild components i would like? Arrrgh!
Porsche administration on a regular basis crows in PCA's mag Panorama regarding how profitable they've been - With mind-boggling arrogance they apparently forget that PCA's membership includes consumers, maybe not shareholders.
This one is finally done! I obtained a little carried away, but may have guaranteed myself a spot in afterlife in the event that gatekeeper appreciates may be. This vehicle was initially a 1973 1.7 litre 'appearance team' 914 which was in every respect tired, rusty, and worn. In retrospect it might are notably less expensive to begin with another compulsive lunatic's completed project. Real time and learn.
That picture of the undercarriage is regarded as my favourites - looks like art to me, despite having that beat up old 911 muffler. Yep, I've first got it baaaaad! I have since changed that muffler with a Triad.

I shall attempt to entirely report the renovation for sake those individuals (and vehicles) that are suffering the same malady.2056cc balanced and blueprinted, 44mm X 40mm valves, ported, fly slashed and decked for 9.5:1 CR, FAT Efficiency .465X290deg cam, 911 valve adjusters, hefty springs, rocker men NPR 96mm pistons, stock swing, Mallory Unilite Distributor, Hyfire VIal Ignition; high-pressure oil releif pistons, blueprinted stock oil pump; SS heat exchangers, Triad Efficiency Exhaust; 911 clutch, Weber 42DCNF carbohydrates, K&N filters.
