Wow, simply wow. It’s amazing. okay, so if we’re brutally honest the P1 is a hairier, more interesting automobile to operate a vehicle – a far more hyper hypercar. But just what the 918 Spyder does brilliantly is match the environment it’s in. Cities: cool, peaceful and electric; motorways: smooth, manageable, comfortable; country roads: safe, instant, massively confidence-inspiring; racetracks: razor sharp, suffers no fools. It’s an intoxicating package, so rewarding and absorbing to pay time with.

And then there’s the engine. The ultimate way to test it is the following: engage a top equipment at reduced rate and shove throttle in terms of you dare. That which you get is it wonderful immediate push from the electric motors (a great deal bigger and more effective than those fitted in either the McLaren or Ferrari), and then, as the revs rise, there’s this tasty handover toward V8, an engine which will be totally savage towards the top end. The entire knowledge unquestionably demonstrates that hybrid could be the future for supercars.
