Porsche 911 maintenance costs

I am perhaps not in search of anything brand new, instead a 964 or 993 to knock-about on vacations. i've an obscure concept the thing I'm engaging in however, if anybody knows exactly what the costs tend to be i'd appreciate your input.

pesky little things which make a mistake?
transmission dilemmas ie let's say I must change trans? recondition?
motor replacement? recon?
tyres?

I hear about oil seals dripping, it being a minor issue, but having an enormous repair cost. The past Porsche I experienced leaked some oil, but it was not really worth the $2500 bill to replace the seal.

Apart from that, you have got costly tires and costly oil modifications, but that's about any of it.

Regarding the Porsche Boxsters, they really need go the motor a little to improve the oil.

There are certain sacrifices is made on vehicles that are so single-minded on performance.

Inquire about specific costs to a 911 owner, most of them do the work on their own or never care how much it costs. Im today considering a poor-man's ride, like the S2000 :-)

Whenever you can move it, get a 993 vs. 964.
The 993 could be more trouble-free and it is much more sophisticated without getting over-burdened with technology.
Change oil (artificial) annually or @ 7500 mi., air conditioning filter as required, spark plugs/fuel filter at 60K and brake liquid any couple of years.
The 993 doesn't require valve corrections whereas the 964 will. This procedure can make a big change in upkeep costs involving the two.
Tire life is dependent on driving style but we average about 10K on rear tires and somewhat much longer in the fronts.
System treatment isn't needed for just about any routine upkeep processes, on 964, 993 or Boxster models.

As with any used car, it will be wise to have vehicle you have in mind undergo a pre-purchase examination at a dealer or Porsche niche store prior to buy.
My 993 has about 50K on it also than usual maintenance, happens to be hassle free and drives as brand new.
